Nick to co-host Christmas in Rockefeller Center

People.com: NBC’s tree-lighting extravaganza, Christmas in Rockefeller Center, will be hosted by Nick Lachey, Ashley Tisdale and Al Rocker this year. Special guests include Celine Dion, Josh Groban, Barry Manilow, Taylor Swift, and Carrie Underwood. It sounds like a lot of people but it’s ok, since this area isn’t really crowded during the holidays.

NBC heralds the arrival of the holidays with a dazzling display of musical talent and the lighting of the world’s most famous Christmas tree during the 10th annual “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” telecast. Co-Hosted by Nick Lachey, Al Roker (”Today”), and Ashley Tisdale the star-studded annual tree lighting extravaganza will feature Natasha Bedingfield, Tony Bennett, Celine Dion, Josh Groban, Sean Kingston, Taylor Swift, Ashley Tisdale and Carrie Underwood performing current hits and holiday classics from Rockefeller Center in New York City. Broadcast again in high definition, the viewers can expect holiday greetings from many of their favorite NBC stars including Mariska Hargitay (NBC’s “Law & Order: SVU”), Howie Mandel (NBC’s “Deal or No Deal”), Hayden Pantierre (NBC’s “Heroes”) Michelle Ryan (NBC’s “Bionic Woman”) and Donald Trump (NBC’s “The Celebrity Apprentice”) along with other surprises as the most famous Christmas tree in the world is lit.
The tradition of the Rockefeller Christmas tree dates back to the Great Depression. First erected in 1933, the tree was decked with 700 lights and placed in front of the then eight-month-old RCA Building, now the GE Building. The Christmas tree gathering was enhanced in 1936 with the opening of the Rockefeller Plaza outdoor ice-skating pond. NBC-TV televised the first tree lighting in 1951 on “The Kate Smith Show” and as part of the nationwide “Howdy Doody” television show from 1953-55.
Prior to the network special, WNBC NBC’s New York flagship station will broadcast an additional live hour of the special (7-8 p.m. ET).

Now - nickfans, don’t get mad at me BUT….
those pictures of Nick and ‘the girlfriend’ on the boat in the Virgin Islands are “awful”…
He looks mostly unhappy and a little plump and ’she’ just looks ugly - oooops I mean unattractive….. Even “their” birthday pictures were too staged - not genuine…JMO……
Sorry but you are the only guys I can voice my opinion, no one else I hang with - cares about Nick Lachey..! !
So I see Nick is going back to that tree lighting thingy! Remember all the (behind the scene) fighting between Nick & jASSica (2004)… yuck!

Hey Princy, my Thanksgiving was wonderful, and too quick. I hope you had a wonderful holiday as well.
I posted on another Nick site that he looked like he was getting a gut, someone replied it could be from all the beer he drinks.
The only picture that looked staged to me from the Islands is the one where they are walking with her arm around his waist, and his hand on her butt……..on the beach…..with nothing in site. I just want to know why they are the only couple to ALWAYS get photographed while on vacation……they’re definately not the most popular celebrity couple that’s for sure……makes me wonder that’s all.
V looks like she’s completely into Nick, he looks like he’s into her….at times……her body language says a lot. I’ve noticed sometimes he doesn’t return the same gestures as she does.
I could be reading way too much into this, but it’s my opinion on small things that I’ve noticed.

BUT sometimes he looks very unhappy -
BUT looking back at his marriage even when they were very happy - Nick looked unhappy sometimes….(does that make sense???)
or it just Princy’s ramblings! ! ! !

Hi guys. Is everyone going to watch Nick co host the Christmas tree lighting tonight? I can’t wait. I just saw on NF that Nick’s new single “Ordinary Day” is going to be on itunes Dec 12th. Finally Nick is back.

Nick was his usual gorgeous self, the best highlights were Josh and Celine (she stole the show) the rest of the show was silly and even the “green” tree was disappointing…

Hi all, and yes Thanksgiving was wonderful, until I got the flu. I’m so bummed!!! I totally missed the Nick man at the Tree Lighting. I thought it was last night! Oh well, tell me all about how he looked and did he sing or just talk?
Yeah, I remember the chaos of the N&Jass tree lighting. Good thing Papa Joe is still pimping his darling daughter for the 50th time. Lets see how long Tony Romo lasts…
Hey sista, mom said we need to stop fighting over her! How ya doing anyway? And I love your comments no matter what. You and Mocha are so funny to me. I still love V, but we will all always have the love of our lives NICK to agree on!
I also noticed Nick has put on a few pounds, but hey, it’s just more to love! I sure would like to have V’s body. I think she looks great. I just think they are very content with each other and I don’t see the posing, but that’s JMO/ I just want to see more of Nick!
I’m so excited about him being on Oprah!!!!

Oprah comes on when I’m at work, I hope a video will be put on youtube, otherwise I will not be able to see him.
I wonder if this song is uptempo or a ballad? I’m sooo excited to hear it.

Team Lachey, I’m wondering if “Ordinary Day” WILL be on his new CD or is it just a promo song for Oprah’s movie. He said he was thrilled that Oprah asked him to record this song??? I guess if it’s catchy BUT the movie isn’t getting good reviews. I’ll watch or record just to hear the song again… And.. I’ll be recording Oprah on Wednesday…
